What started as a mom’s heartfelt gesture has grown into a Chicago-based catering and custom dessert studio serving corporate clients, productions, schools, nonprofits, and milestone celebrations across the city.

I’m Elisa, a self-taught baker and proud mom to Ella B., whose 4th birthday cake in 2014 sparked a passion that forever changed my life. From that very first cake, I realized baking was never just about flour and sugar — it was about creating joy, connection, celebration, and unforgettable moments.

Word of mouth quickly transformed my hobby into a thriving business, and by 2020, I made the leap from paralegal to full-time baker. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of creating custom cakes for celebrities including Anthony Davis, Corey Calliet, Lance Gross, and Darius Miller. Elisa’s Cake by the #Pound was also honored on Travel Noire’s list of the 50 Best Black-Owned Bakeries in the U.S., a recognition I hold close to my heart.

In 2022, I relocated to Chicago and expanded the business to meet the growing needs of corporate and event clients. Today, Elisa’s Cake by the #Pound offers custom cakes, corporate dessert catering, premium boxed lunches, breakfast catering, lunch drop-offs, dessert bars, production catering, artist hospitality, wrap party sweets, and New Orleans-inspired menu items.

We proudly serve companies, universities, schools, productions, nonprofits, and private clients looking for food and desserts that are polished, memorable, and easy to execute.
